BDP Works a Last Minute Miracle
The Friday before the New Year’s Day holiday, two hot containers for Steelcase Inc. arrived the port of Los Angeles, CA-US to be ingated for export, and the Pierpass had not yet been claimed.  The BDP Grand Rapids, MI-US office that handles Steelcase shipments had already left for the day.  Mary Ann Orozco, Ocean Export Manager - BDP Los Angeles, CA-US was able to work a ‘last minute miracle’ to cover the Pierpass on behalf of BDP Grand Rapids for the containers to load the intended vessel, a huge relief to Steelcase.  Sheri Bird, International Project Coordinator - Steelcase remarked, “Without her help, we would have had a very unhappy customer. Thank you Mary Ann!" Further, Jason Morris of the APL Customer Service Team  commented, “We really appreciated the fact that she was willing to help and cover for a fellow office, even though it was actually not something she had any responsibility for. This was definitely a case of service excellence.”

"Just wanted to let you know the excellent service that Mary Ann Orozco provided for us last Friday.  Holiday weekend, everybody already gone in Grand Rapids, and we have a driver at the Los Angeles pier needing a pier pass for a critical booking that could not roll.  She took care of everything for us and within minutes the driver was able to have the approval move the containers into port.  Without her help we would have had a very unhappy customer.  THANK YOU MARY ANN!"

"I wanted to recognize one of your employees, Mary Ann Orozco at your BDP Los Angeles, CA-US for her work last week on an important shipment.
It was a Friday, near the end of the day, right before the holiday weekend.  Our trucker arrived at port to ingate 2 containers, on the day of the port cutoff, only to discover that Pierpass had not yet been claimed.  Our customer’s local BDP office in Michigan had already closed for the day.  It was critical that this shipment make the intended vessel.
Mary Anne was able to work a last minute miracle to cover Pierpass on behalf of BDP Grand Rapids.  We reached her by phone right before they were about to close for the day.  She was able to take care of the issue within minutes.  The trucker was then able to ingate the containers on time for the cutoff.  She saved the day, and our customer was very pleased and relieved.
