Kristin recently took over as a Team Leader for the DuPont Performance Materials business unit. In March, the BDP Vu Team, based in BDP North America-Philadelphia-US, was recently presented with BDP Outstanding Customer Service - Team Dedication awards for its significant contributions to the BDP Vu application.

Marian Stevenson, Senior Global Account Executive - BDP Philadelphia-US initiated the nominations within our Recognized Service Excellence program and said, "I am recognizing our IT BDP Vu team who made this application a huge success. BDP Vu was a total team effort that required tremendous coordination and communications. The application strengthens BDP's competitive advantage where we have received positive feedback from BDP customer Meijer Corporation. Lastly, this team should also be recognized for creating the BDP Vu Sales Demo environment as well as training that is accessible on BDP University."

Further, the nominations were fully endorsed by BDP's Global Chief Information Officer Stephen Zimmerman. Zimmerman remarked that
"BDP Vu is an exceptional product that has created a huge furor within our marketing and sales force and has gained huge curiosity from our current and prospective customers. We have recently created a full motion video of this product and have distributed it globally to all our sales team and partners. In addition, we have many customers who already have signed up for this product and fill a full page on our weekly IT executive dashboard. This is truly a piece of software that can cause a differentiation in our market share and there are already enhancements and modifications to this product being worked on."

BDP Outstanding Customer Service Award Winner

BDP's Kay Beiser and Patrick Murphey coordinated Daniel's award presentation during the March 23 BDP / Sun Chemical quarterly meeting at the BDP Cincinnati office. Linda Coleman of Sun Chemical presented the award with three Sun Chemical colleagues in attendance: William "Bill" Mol, Corporate V.P. Global Logistics; Ed Pruitt, Chief Procurement Officer (also responsible for Compliance); and Dale Erskine, Business Analyst (also responsible for Compliance). Patrick said the surprise presentation was "truly amazing" and noted, "It was the best idea Kay and I have ever had. It was a great moment for the entire office."

BDP Cincinnati’s Kay Beiser, General Manager / Director Strategic Accounts and Patrick Murphey, Import Supervisor nominated Daniel Nolan as a BDP Outstanding Customer Service recipient to recognize his great performance servicing BDP client Sun Chemical Corporation. Daniel handles all BDP US entries for Sun Chemical, and BDP and Sun Chemical fully appreciate Daniel's great Customer Care. Patrick said, "Daniel goes above and beyond to service Sun; always going the extra yard to make sure entries are cleared and containers are delivered on schedule. Further, Daniel even mitigates with other US brokers and carriers to lower costs on behalf of Sun if overcharged.

Kay emphasized that Sun Chemical's Lisa Morris, Performance Pigments, NAFTA Supply Chain "is constantly giving kudos and thinks the world of Daniel." For the recent Sun Chemical compliment from Linda Coleman - Corporate Supply Chain, Daniel worked one weekend in March to track containers moving on Sun Chemical's contract (non BDP Transport containers) to ensure on-time deliveries to each US destination. "Daniel goes far and above to make sure this business is handled expeditiously and in a compliant manner as humanly can be done" remarked Kay. In addition, Daniel works closely with other US brokers -often providing an extra set of documents- to make sure Sun Chemical's entries and deliveries are coordinated without fail. In closing, "This is very positive feedback from Sun Chemical" said Kay, and "Daniel should be formally acknowledged within our Recognized Service Excellence program for his exceptional performance."

BDP North America's Amber Berry-Director of Operations submitted the recent Lanxess accolades to formally acknowledge Richard Schultz within our Recognized Service Excellence program. Richard handles the ocean export business for Lanxess and is doing a "great job" according to Marie Hyre of Lanxess. The award will be presented by John Wright, Director of Operations - BDP Phila Airport, USA.

Linda Rogers, Customer Relationship Coordinator for Shell, sent a hand written note to BDP Houston’s Charlotte Reinemeyer for her outstanding customer service. Not only does Charlotte provide customer service to Shell, she was recently promoted to a supervisory role and oversees many other customer accounts in the department. Polioles S.A. de C.V. is one of Central America’s largest chemical companies headquartered in Mexico.

The Success Story of our Supply Chain

On March 15, a special presentation took place in the BDP North America-Chicago, US office. Kate Schoell, Director, Global Logistics and Trade - HAVI Global Solutions LLC and Rene Laske, CHB/QLH, Regional Account Executive - BDP Chicago presented Sharon Kozik, Import Coordinator-BDP Chicago with a BDP Outstanding Customer Service Award for her continued attention to detail and dedication to the successful execution of the HAVI account. The ceremony was planned as a surprise which added a second layer of excitement to the well received HAVI testimonial.

Special thanks is extended to Rene Laske for coordinating the presentation and to Kate Schoell for sharing the positive comments on behalf of The HAVI Global Solutions Global Logistics and Trade Team and for being part of the Service Excellence celebration at BDP Chicago.

Letter of Thanks from Cooper Tire Asia-Pacific

Dear Todd,

It’s Peter Lu from Cooper Tire Asia, first time to write to you, hope everything is ok for you.
Generally, it’s the customer who gets all the attention.

When we hit the record sales last month, one of the things we thought of first was to write a couple of our distributors to thank them for their loyal support over the years. Without them, we said, we couldn't possibly have become what we are. Of course, we mean it, you may know the importance of loyal friends as well as we do.

But later I was thinking, "What about those people who kept us supplied during the past years with amazing logistics service? Don’t they deserve some credit, too?" Of course, they do! I have been contacting BDP since I joined Cooper Tire in early 2008 for the US export tire business to Asian countries, and you have always given us outstanding service at a fair price – we can’t ask for more. Sure, we may have our minor squabbles some time – I have forgotten - they haven’t detracted one bit from my high opinion of your company, your service, and your people.

So we owe a great big thank you to BDP, and as I look back the cooperation we have, I think of the wonderful help your coordinator - Marquita Blanding – was to us together with our customers. Not only has Marquita done a fantastic service job for shipments, she also help to coordinate with our customers and our US stuff when they have any questions. She is surely a godsend!

"Deborah has worked for BDP since July 2002 and has the longest standing relationship with ESCO. Deborah was a Logistics Coordinator and was recently promoted to the Team Leader position. Tracy began her temporary assignment with BDP in August 2009. Although Tracy is new to the team, Jennifer Cupp felt that identifying the Houston Import Breakbulk department would be appropriate."

The following story, with excerpts from the ESCO letter, was published in the March 2, 2010 DataDayPlus newsletter.

BDP Achieves 100% Performance from ESCO
ESCO Company, a chemical firm based in Michigan, USA that imports both hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals from Japan and China and who is a client of our BDP Houston office, performed their annual evaluation of their suppliers as part of their Supplier Certification Program.

The elements that are evaluated include conformance to specifications, on-time delivery, problem response, sales support, customer service, and pricing terms and conditions. ESCO was happy to report back that BDP International was rated with an overall performance score of 100% and received the status of Preferred Supplier of ESCO.

"BDP has met all ESCO requirements in arranging freight movement and Customs clearance, tracking and expediting as needed, and communications. Customer service has been excellence; Debbie Breaux and Tracy Johnson have done a great job for ESCO," says Robert Pleasant, Materials Manager for ESCO.

Bill Heathcock, Director of Operations in Houston, congratulated his team on making great strides in quality for our customers and goes on to say that BDP's excellence in customer service is paying off and our customers are seeing and recognizing it!
