Service Excellence Overview
Beginning April 1, 2009 BDP officially launched its new BDPSmart Insight web-based tool - our company’s application for BDP global and US colleagues to submit quote requests to regionalized Pricing Teams that our passed on to our customers. Insight provides internal data centralization with a standardized method of requesting and receiving rate quotes.

Amy Metzger, CHB, Director Corporate Pricing & Tender Management – Philadelphia Airport Office, submitted an Outstanding Customer Service – Employee Dedication nomination based on the numerous compliments from BDP US colleagues acknowledging Jaki Curran’s “invaluable guidance and support” with the new BDPSmart Insight tool. Amy remarked that “Jaki goes out of her way to assist BDP colleagues on this new tool. She’s really going above and beyond in helping people learn it. She is patient, provides thorough explanations and cares that employees understand and use the tool as it is intended.”

Jaki assists her BDP colleagues by logging on Insight, walking users through each step of the process and explaining the data fields as needed. She is spending an estimated two hours per day training US colleagues in addition to handling her usual work load. This extra time training is substantial and she never complains. Jaki makes Insight easy for new users.

The US Pricing and BDP Transport teams are scheduling dates to host formal, Webinar training via BDP University. It’s the “1, 2, punch – Amy noted - for the US-based BDP Transport and Pricing Teams to deliver a consistent message. Employees are currently using a manual to learn the how-to’s in addition contacting Jaki directly when questions arise.” Now that's pricing made easy.

As of May 26, the Pricing Team has answered over 4000 requests in addition to the customary email rate requests. BDPInsight will be mandatory for all US and global quote requests beginning July 1, 2009.
