BDP Overview
In April 2009, BDP had a kick off meeting for some new Sun divisions in the Chicago area. We asked Michel Ford to do an Export and Import Awareness presentation along with a Regulatory Compliance session. I was asked to give a BDPSmart demonstration and to talk about Sun’s current process with us. Throughout the meeting, Brian Gustafson emphasized the changeover to BDP and all of the reasons we were chosen to be Sun’s provider. The entire Sun group seemed to engage immediately on the visibility issues we can bring and the exposure to regulatory issues within their current processes. The dialogue we exchanged between our two companies was excellent and so positive. Michael hit on the key issues for Sun, and he made it interesting and fun for them to learn more about this business.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of our business relationship and to update you on the outcome of our meeting this week in Chicago with Michael Ford and Kay Beiser.
Michael’s presentation and the ensuing conversations have prompted a positive outpouring of support from all the Sun units for the recent decision to move all of our U.S. controlled business under the BDP umbrella. Having the single team in Hebron, Kentucky-US led by Kay for our global activities and contacts is the missing piece we have needed for so long. And with BDPSmart as our driver allowing us to have end-to-end visibility we are now able to move this new process along quite quickly. We are making plans for another partnership/advancement meeting in Carlstadt, NJ on May 14th and I trust that I can invite the same group from BDP to that meeting as well.
The global ocean RFQ was received this week and we are working with Kay and the team on the export administration piece in Europe as well as the European inbound brokerage process. The growth of our business relationship was long-stalled and we are excited about this renewed path forward. Again, thank you for your continued support of our partnership.
