First I would to say that due to our everyday performance, Heineken awarded us with this additional opportunity.
Sue Denbow was the transition leader and did a great job. Her role was to keep the team on task, as this new business was unlike the current Heineken business but more in the fashion of the old way in which it was handled under Sue’s leadership in Norfolk. She clearly understood all of the demands, and again by using management reports, she was able keep all task in front of us.
Patrick agreed to work out of our Atlanta office for four weeks prior and during the transition. Patrick’s role was to create management reports and to assist in following up with all of the local truckers to ensure that all containers were demurrage-free.
During this time, two key transition team members were preparing for their weddings and honeymoons. This was an outstanding total team effort that I was proud to lead. BDP at its best.

I would like to recognize Al, Kristen, Karen, and Randy for their outstanding efforts on the Heineken Newcastle Beer transition in September 2008. They processed many files, going above and beyond during this time. Their many hours of dedication helped process 514 entries in a very short time frame by working weekends and working until 9:00pm, sometimes 10:00pm, to complete the entries. Thank you for your hard work and making this transition happen for the Atlanta office.
Further, Karen stepped up to handle the supervision of Justin’s desk during his honeymoon. Thank you for your long hours and hard work.
I appreciate all of their help in making this a great transition. Sue Denbow and Patrick Wilson worked with us to bring in the Newcastle Beer business for Heineken. They worked many, many late hours for many nights assisting with the new business transition.
Randy gave us most of the weekend and weeknights helping with this project since his day-to-day responsibilities were focused processing and supervising import entries for other clients.
Justin Elwell, Team Leader, does such a great job with the Heineken USA account, which helped tremendously in securing the Newcastle business. Justin has a great team in place, and because of the excellent customer service that his team provides, we were given a chance to handle Newcastle Beer, which is Heineken’s newest venture. Suddenly with this newest venture, we received EDI feeds on a Thursday right before his wedding, which I tried to cancel. So, Justin was off to his wedding and honeymoon, and we were stuck here trying to make it all happen. The team really pulled together, and I am very proud of all of them.
I put in a lot of hours staying late into the nights and on the weekends; although, I put my team first in everything, as they made it all possible.
