SABIC Innovative Plastics Testimonial, May 2010
Dear Mike,
Please accept this letter as our sincere thank you for the great staff that both you and Josh Watson [BDP Regional Manager-Business Development] have built in our Huntersville, NC-US office.
As you know, and due to the ocean market environment, the 1st 4 months of 2010 has been quite challenging in the area of obtaining ocean bookings, container availability, and actually having our U.S. Exports loaded onto vessels.
Dan Stoffler has done a tremendous job collaborating with our leadership team, and their staff, to develop alternative methods to quickly get our product booked and loaded onto vessels along with reasonable transit times.
Dan’s leadership is well appreciated and, at this time, we want to recognize Dan and the following individuals on his staff that developed many extra off-business hours to execute necessary action plans to meet our needs.
Those individuals are:
Kristin Smith has effectively handled our Burkville location. The majority of her normal day had been spent managing the challenging open market changes. With the increased complexity and communications required, the physical processing of orders was pushed to later part of the day. This ultimately created late work nights and long weekends for Kristin. She readily gave up her personal time to handle increased volume of effort while continuing to produce at a high error free level.
Josh Harrelson handles our Mt. Vernon and Selkirk facilities and faced similar challenges. His commitment came with early mornings, long nights, and weekend efforts as well. We understand that he has accepted additional responsibilities to help stabilize the team and always approaches each task with a “can do” attitude. His communication efforts with our team are greatly appreciated as he balanced the utilization of west coast versus east coast services.
Vicki Coleman as I understand, is very significant to your entire export team. Her dedication and constant attention to details are well appreciated. Vicki ensures that daily challenges are controlled and that BDP personnel continue to perform at an extremely high level. In additional to her service commitment, she considers in advance how actions impact cost to SABIC IP, thus she has helped to prevent a number of costly issues by solving the complexity of container equipment, and shifting to alternate carrier and/or service changes. She is also quite effective managing and controlling the entire document process during the same time period.
We thank everyone mentioned for their commitment to BDP and SABIC Innovative Plastics. SABIC IP will soon invite Dan, Kristin, Josh, and Vicki to a congratulatory luncheon where we will present them with our Certificates of Appreciation.
We would appreciate if you can also take the time to recognize and congratulate your staff on a job well done.
Note that we’re not “out of the woods yet”, but we are on the right track to be successful for the remainder of 2010. Please encourage your team to keep up the good work and high standards they have set.
Sincerely yours,
Vincent Gamba - Global Transportation Sourcing Leader
