Service Excellence Story
BioStorage Technologies, Inc. had a non-hazardous and perishable plasma shipment waiting for final sign off by the US Fish & Wildlife Service prior to export from Chicago, US to Vienna, Austria. Donna Rosner, Logistics Supervisor- BioStorage Technologies, Inc. –a former BDP Indianapolis-US colleague- shared this comment about the outstanding efforts:
“Yes, hats off to all at BDP and Transtar International-Chicago who made this happen! We appreciate all you did for us to ensure these plasma samples were not compromised.”
Katarzyna personally delivered the original US Fish & Wildlife forms; then went back a second time to deliver a BDP NOW check to cover the permit costs and to pick up the signed forms that would accompany the shipment. In between the US Fish & Wildlife processes, Katarzyna was instrumental in making sure the plasma carton was re-iced -or “topped off”- according to the customer’s specifications. An extra supply of dry-ice was provided by BioStorage Technologies to accommodate a shipment delay while the forms were under final review at US Fish & Wildlife. After the forms were accepted, Katarzyna closely monitored the carton until it was safely transferred to and accepted by Swiss Air with a clean TSA inspection.
Chuck Dych, Team Leader, Air Export Services-BDP Indianapolis-US supports Katarzyna’s nomination by adding that, “The biotech business is growing and BDP, our customers, the domestic carriers, and airlines need to work jointly - with close cooperation and flexibility, especially when government agencies and inspections are involved. Katarzyna went way Above and Beyond on making this happen.” Chuck further noted that “Swiss Air did a great job and held the flight open until the shipment was delivered - 30 minutes before flight take off. “ The plasma sample, intended for research, arrived Vienna on time and in excellent condition.
Great job to ALL, including Steven Picado, BDP Chicago-US Gateway Manager and Transtar International. Thank you for going the extra mile!
