Mick Chianese and Lori Smith - Global Transportation Organization – Johnson & Johnson Sales & Logistics Company LLC presented BDP International, Inc. with a 2008 Transportation Provider of the Year for International award in February 2009. BDP’s Ed Kocher and Tara Bradford, both Import Team Leaders - Philadelphia Airport Office-US, accepted the prestigious award on behalf of BDP International at Johnson & Johnson's US Headquarters in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The engraved plaque reads as:

The award was presented to BDP International using such terms as adaptability, flexibility, and versatility. BDP International is the only supplier who has been awarded this top honor from Johnson & Johnson for three years – in 2003, 2005, and 2008.
Each year Johnson & Johnson sends out a survey to its subsidiary holdings or “Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies” to rate each carrier’s or freight forwarder’s customer service credentials and performance. Winning companies are selected based on their superior customer service ratings. John Wright, Director of Operations – Philadelphia Airport Office-US noted this is the "highest award given to a vendor by Johnson & Johnson. Our BDP Teams should be congratulated and recognized for their hard work.”
Margie Lake Feriozzi, Regional Account Executive-Ocean Export, Philadelphia Airport Office-US was first approached by Mick Chianese in January 2009 and asked to “look through the last six months of exports metrics and to advise the BDP driven improvements - noting specific business challenges and outcomes in 2008." Margie’s initial thought was that “something was wrong and Johnson & Johnson may have complaints about BDP’s service.” Low and behold, Mick was gathering Margie’s information to use as part of the speech content for the award presentation!
In the past, Johnson & Johnson’s annual Transportation Provider of the Year award was presented exclusively to its domestic suppliers. The annual award has since been expanded over the years to include and recognize both international and domestic suppliers and freight forwarders.
BDP has yet another award to proudly display alongside the 2003 and 2005 Transportation Provider of the Year awards. All three awards serve as an instant reminder of the exceptional service and talented solutions provided by our BDP Teams each and every day. Congratulations to ALL!
