Invaluable Contributions!
In April, Melissa Broussard of the Oil & Gas Operations - The Dow Chemical Company contacted BDP's Michael Mehlmann, Director of Americas Supply Chain to formally recognize Erin Connolly for her invaluable contributions to the Dow Oil & Gas (DO&G) business. Broussard said,

"Since Erin began supporting our business, she has continued to develop and better understand our needs and requirements to service our customers successfully. She plays a critical role in helping us manage extremely difficult and atypical requests which are very common in our business. When the team around the world is asked what is the biggest contributor to improvements we have seen in the last few years, Erin and the "Tuesday meetings" (which are now lead by Erin) are always the Number One answer from each region."

One of Dow’s fastest growing business units over the past two years has been Dow Oil & Gas (DO&G). The business faced many challenges – production, communication, and destination markets in the Middle East that have their own challenges with vessel space and delays at transshipment ports.

DO&G came to BDP seeking a solution to their growing list of issues. As DO&G is considered a market facing business unit, BDP realized that the standards and procedures set for the majority of Dow to Dow moves would not be enough to apply to DO&G needs. After an internal review of Best Practices, BDP nominated Erin Connolly -a high performing LSC- to serve as a focal point for Dow Oil & Gas.

Erin became a “one stop shop” for all of Dow Oil & Gas’s logistics and documentation needs. Erin routinely reviewed all options available to Dow and BDP on expedited services to India, Middle East, and Africa. Erin proactively tracked and monitored Dow Oil & Gas’s shipments at transshipment ports – providing updates on transshipment departures and possible delays to Dow Oil & Gas. Most importantly, as Melissa Broussard stated, Erin led a weekly call for the Dow Oil & Gas business. Every Tuesday, Erin would come into the office an hour early and speak with Dow CSRs and other sales people in Europe and in the Middle East. I truly believe that this level of service and communication greatly helped Dow Oil & Gas in that part of the world as Erin would take the time on the phone to explain the issue or confirm the status of delivery and documents to the individuals at Dow, who in turn felt confident in what they were communicating to the end customer.

Erin is a BDP Process Improvement Award recipient for her innovation, leadership, and contributions to the Dow Oil & Gas business.
