Jim Mitchell, Air Export Manager-BDP Atlanta recognized BDP Frankfurt, specifically Sören Rück, with an Employee Dedication award for his assistance in obtaining a transit permit from the German authorities for the transportation of a shipment of firearms through Germany on behalf of our customer Remington Arms.
We had booked a shipment of firearms from Atlanta to Lyon, France via Lufthansa airlines for our customer Remington Arms. When the shipment arrived in Frankfurt, we were informed by the airline that due to a new government regulation, we would need to obtain a transit permit from the German government in order to move these goods through Germany via truck.
I contacted Stewart Donaldson, Branch Manager - BDP Frankfurt, to request his assistance in obtaining this permit as direct communication with the German authorities would have bee complicated by the differences in language and time zone. Stewart forwarded my request to Sören, who was able obtain the permit within two days, thus minimizing the impact on the customer.
I have depended on the assistance of BDP Frankfurt on many occasions to facilitate the movement of cargo throughout Europe, their service has been invaluable.
